Episode 18 – International Podcast Day 2021

This episode of Art on your sleeve is another slight diversion from the usual format and was put together specifically to mark International Podcast Day which falls on 30 September every year. It is “…a celebration of the power of podcasts and a great opportunity to connect with fellow podcasters, podcast listeners, podcast enthusiasts and leaders in the podcasting industry.”

Podcasting is a brilliant media platform that’s open to almost anyone – its simplicity is its strength. In this episode I wanted to promote the day by sharing some love for a few of the shows that I regularly listen to. I’ve been podcasting on and off since 2006 – firstly with iSay iSay iSay, then Soft Podicus and now with Art on your sleeve. Over the years, I’ve discovered much talent around the world through podcasting and spent many hours listening to voices that I would otherwise never have discovered – many of whom have gone on to become friends.

Almost everyone I asked to contribute to this episode was keen to get involved and it is this generosity, enthusiasm and commitment that shines brightly in their own shows, all of which I highly recommend. All of my guests’ podcasts have a connection with music, art or design and each has come up with something unique that provides a flavour of their own podcasts whilst contributing something meaningful to the raison d’être of Art on your sleeve. For this I am immensely grateful.

Below is a list of the contributors to this episode along with a brief show summary and links to their websites and social media. Each may also be found in the usual podcast places – Spotify, Apple and Google podcasts etc.
